Yesterday, the Kiremt rain benefiting areas of Tigray, Amhara, Benishangul-Gumuz, Gambella, Oromia, Afar, Southwest, Central and Southern Ethiopia, as well as eastern parts of the country had strong cloud cover and accumulation. In association with this, northwest, central, south, southeast and east Tigray zones; north, south and central Gondar, east and west Gojjam, Awi, north and south Wollo, north Shewa and Waghemra Zones; from Afar region Awsi and Gabi Zones; from Benishangul-Gumuz region Metekel and Bullen Zones; from Gambella region Agnwuak and Nuer zones; Jimma, Ilubabor, Buno Bedele, Horogudru, West and East Wellga, north, west, southwest and east Shewa, west Guji, Arsi, west and east Hararge Zones; Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, Harar; from Southwest Ethiopia region Bench Sheko, Sheka and Dauro zones; from Central Ethiopia region Hadia, Silte and Gurage zones; from Southern Ethiopia region Wolayta, Gofa, Gamo and South Omo zones, and the zones of Sidama region received light to moderate amounts of rainfall. In addition, heavy amounts of rainfall of more than 30 mm were recorded in Atsibi, Shahura, Metekel, Lare, Sawla, Wolaita, Fiche, Ejaji, Gemelso, Kulubi, Lange and Karamile.

In line with this, from the Tigray region the western, central, northwestern, southeastern, southern and eastern zones; from the Amhara region west, north, south and central Gondar, west and east Gojjam, Awi, north and south Wollo, Oromo ethnic special zone, north Shewa and Waghemra Zones; from the Afar region Gabi and Hari zones; from the Benishangul Gumuz region Metekel, Asossa, Mao Komo and Kamash zones; from the Oromia region, Jimma, Ilubabor, Buno Bedele, west and east Wellega, Horo Guduru Wellega, Kelam Wellega, southwest, east, north and west Shewa, Guji, Bale, Arsi and west Arsi zones; Addis Ababa; from the Gambella region Agnuwak, Nuwer, Itang and Majang zones; from the Southwest Ethiopia region Bench Sheko, Sheka, Kefa, Konta, west Omo and Dawuro zones; from the central Ethiopia region Gurage, Silte, Halaba, Hadiya, Yem special zone, Kambata and Tembaro Zones; from the south Ethiopia region, Wolaita and Gedeo Zones; all zones of Sidama region and from the Somali region Siti zone will receive light to moderate (1-29 mm) rainfall in many places. In addition, in Dalifagi; Bulen, Dangur, Pawe, Jawi, Dangila, Sekela, Alefa, Fogera, Mota, Wemberima, Delanta, Wadila and Makdela will receive heavy rainfall of more than 30 mm in 24 hours. Especially, the frequent heavy rainfall as it is being observed in Awash, Abay and Baro basins, the Ethiopian Meteorological Institute suggests that the community and concerned bodies should take necessary precautions. On the other hand, Gofa, west and east Hararge, Awusi and from the Somali region Fafen and Jarar zones will receive light rainfall in some places.
