
According to the collected and analyzed climate data for May 2024, there were low to highly favorable climate conditions for the breeding and transmission of malaria over the country's southern half. Regions such as the eastern half of the Gambela region, the south and south-west Ethiopia region, Sidama and central Ethiopia, most parts of Oromia, western parts of Somalia, and the southern half of the Benishangul Gumuz region of the country were very conducive to malaria transmission.
