Monthly Health Met Bulletin June 2026
During June 2026, climatic conditions across Ethiopia shifted the areas suitable for malaria transmission from the southeastern parts of the country toward the western Kiremt-receiving regions. Low to moderate climatic suitability for malaria transmission was observed across parts of Oromia, South Ethiopia, Central Ethiopia, Sidama, Gambela, and Benishangul-Gumuz regions. Human heat stress ranged from moderate to high in Afar, Somali, Gambela, South Ethiopia, Benishangul-Gumuz, and western Amhara, while most highland and midland areas remained thermally comfortable. Cattle experienced little to no significant heat stress across most parts of the country.
