As of April 2026, most parts of the Belg-benefiting areas of the country experienced favourable climate conditions for the breeding and transmission of malaria. Oromia, Somali, South Ethiopia, Southwest Ethiopia, Sidama, central Ethiopia, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, Dire Dawa, and the Harari region were some of the most suitable areas for malaria transmission. However, the heat stress condition during this month did not significantly affect both Human and cattle health and productivity.
