During March 2025, days were remained warm over several portions of lowlands of Ethiopia, in particularly over Gambella, Somali, Afar, Benishangul Gumuz and North West Amhara regions. Specifically, the extreme maximum temperature values were as high as 37, 39, 39, 37, 43.5, 42.2, 40.4, 37.5, 39.4, 37.2 and 38.2 °C for Arba Minch, Metehara (NMSA), Awash Arba, Aysha, Fugnuido, Gambella, Gewane, Mierab Abaya, Pawe, Sawula and Semera station respectively.

On the other hand, the extreme minimum temperature values were below 5.5°C cover some highland parts of Amhara, some part of Oromia, Tigray and Adjoining areas of Benishangul Gumuz and Oromia regions. Specifically, the extreme minimum temperature values were 3, 5.2, 5, 3.2, 4.2 and 4.6°C, over Gondar A.P., Ambamariam, Bui, D/Brehan, Jijiga and Mehalmeda, respectively.

During March 2025, the monthly rainfall amount exceeded 100 mm or heavier rainfall was occurring over South West Ethiopia, South Ethiopia, Central Ethiopia, and most part of Oromia regions. In particular, the monthly total rainfall values of March 2025 were as high as 218.6, 167, 167.2, 288.9, 179.4, 187.3, 205.9, 163.2 and 205.3 mm over Arejo, Ginir, Hageremariam, Hossaina, Jara, Jinka, Majji, Sawula and Tercha stations respectively. The daily rainfall more than 50mm values was observed over Alemketema, Burji, Chira, Gelemso, Gewane, Imdiber, Masha, Sawula and Yabelo stations was 54, 57.2, 53.5, 57.5, 59.5, 51.4, 60.4, 50 and 57.1 mm respectively.

In general, the monthly total rainfall amount of March 2025 was below normal over part of Benishangul Gumuz, some of Amhara, some pocket areas of Oromia, Somali and Tigray regions. On the other hand, it was above normal over most part of Central Ethiopia, Sidama, and South Ethiopia, South West Ethiopia, Somali and some part of Oromia regions. The rainfall was normal in some parts of Afar, some pocket areas of Oromia, Amhara, Tigray and Gambella regions.
