During the first dekade of May 2026, the analyzed agricultural meteorological data indicate that the light to heavy rainfall experienced in the South, Southwest, Southeast, North, West, and Central regions of the country was beneficial for the growth of early-sown Belg crops at various stages of development. It also played a positive role in the sowing of long-term crops, the growth of early-sown Belg crops and the fulfillment of water requirements for perennial crops. It also contributed significantly to the supply of drinking water and pasture grass as well as agricultural work. On the other hand, the heavy rainfall mixed with snow in Rape Woreda of Gedeo Zone had a negative impact on plants and crops.
