During the last Belg season of 2023, the rain started later than normal. Especially in the first month, the areas that benefited from the seasonal rains were under the influence of dry weather. During this Belg season, the eastern and central part of the tropical Pacific Ocean continues to be normal (ENSO-Neutral) in February, March, April and May. However, due to frequent occurrence of Tropical Cyclone in the Southwest Indian Ocean in February, it has negatively contributed to preventing moist air from entering our country. In the upcoming Kiremt season of 2023, expecting that there will be sufficient moisture in most of the seasonal rain benefiting areas. It is also expected that the rain will be better in different parts of the country and there will be less risk of drought in the areas that receive normal and below normal rain.  Back to List |
