Except eastern parts of upper Wabishebele and upper GenaleDawa the rest all Kiremt rain benefiting catchments had better moisture performance during August. Accordingly most of Abay, OmoGibe and Tekeze, upper AfarDenakel, upper BaroAkobo, upper and middle Awash, upper Wabishebele, upper Rift valley catchments and pocket places of upper Genaledawa catchments were preformed wet weather condition. The rest lower Awash, middle and lower Wabishebele, lower BoroAkobo, most of GenaleDawa and Ogaden basins were dominated under dry to humid weather condition.

During September the pattern of rainfall amount and distribution is decreasing from north, northeastern and central catchments while over south eastern and southern catchments are starting to get seasonal rainfall. Accordingly in the coming month most of Abay, BaroAkobo, Tekeze, upper and middle OmoGibe, upper and middle Awash, upper Wabishebele, upper and middle Rift Valley, upper Genaledawa and upper AfarDenakel catchments will be expected to have near normal rainfall.
