Except below normal rainfall that was registered across the lowlands of south and southeastern where, normally the Belg is the main rainy season, the remaining parts of the country observed normal to above normal rainfall as a result of continuous wet spells since the mid of April through May in addition to heavy falls received across some places. In the coming Kiremt season, normal to above normal rain is anticipated across the western half. Whereas, North-eastern, Eastern and high lands of the South are likely to receive rain tending at most to the normal category however, few places are expected to receive below normal rain. Furthermore, early cessation of the rain from the north eastern Ethiopia may lead to the enhancement of rain across south and south-Eastern Ethiopia.  Back to List |
