Bega mid-season 2011 |
|||||
During the previous two months (October &November) of the Bega season, except the western and northern extremes the remaining parts of the country enjoyed appreciable amount of rain. Particularly, the southern parts had received a substantial amount of rainfall reaching up to 657millimeters for 15-50 rainy days. A very deep low pressure system observed over the Arabian Sea and that gradually propagated westwards and sustained across our region during the first and third decade of November was the main cause for the wide spread and for an occasional heavy falls. In general, most parts of the country had experienced above normal rainfall activity. In the remaining two months of December and January, it is highly likely that the normal dry, windy and cold night time and early morning temperature to prevail. Moreover during this period the rainfall benefiting areas of, south western, Southern and South eastern areas are anticipated to have normal rainfall. ![]() Back to List |
