Monthly Hydro-meteorlogical Print PDF

The moisture performance of January was significantly dry over most river basins. While across the divide areas of lower Baro Akobo and Rift Valley catchments were preformed semi dry to semi humid weather condition. The rest parts of the main river basins were dominated under dry and sunny weather condition. The occurrence of heavy fall during January was observed in one station across south western adjacent catchments. Station which received heavy fall was observed over the divide of lower OmoGibe and Rift Valley catchments.

In the normal condition after mid February Belg season rain is starting in most parts of Belg rain benefiting catchments. According to this upper and middle Awash, eastern half of Abay, most parts of Baro Akobo, upper OmoGibe, upper and middle Rift Valley, some upper parts of Genaledwa and upper Wabishebele will expected to have different amount of rainfall. In the other hand the daily temperature will be increased across the middle and lower parts of all catchments. To minimize the scarcity of water we have to apply different water harvesting mechanisms and techniques at time of raining.
