The moisture performance of May had better performance over south western, western and central river basins. Accordingly most parts of BaroAkobo, OmoGibe, Abay, upper Wabishebele, Genaledawa, Rift valley, upper Awash and upper Tekeze catchments were preformed wet to semi humid weather condition. The rest most of Awash, middle and lower Tekeze, lower Riftvalley, AfarDenakel, lower GenaleDawa and lower Wabishebele basins were dominated under dry and semi dry condition. The occurrence of heavy fall were observed over most Belg rain benefiting and western half of the country catchments, hence most of Abay, BaroAkobo, Omogibe, Rift Valley, upper Genaledawa, upper Wabishebele, some parts of upper and middle Awash, some parts of upper Afardenakel and upper Tekeze catchments were received from one to eight days. The maximum frequency of heavy fall days was recorded over BaroAkobo and Abay basin at Gore and Arjo station for eight and seven days respectively.

During June Kiremt rain is starting from western, south western and north western catchments and gradually extended to central, north eastern and eastern catchments of the country. According to this north western, western, and south western catchments will have better amount and distribution of rainfall during June. The occurrence of have fall significant phenomenon in Kiremt season like wise heavy fall event will be occur in some places of the above catchments. In line with this in the coming June most of BaroAkobo, Abay, OmoGibe, upper Awash, lower Tekeze and upper and middle Rift Valley will be expected to have normal and above normal rainfall. In the other side upper Tekeze, eastern part of Abay, middle Awash, upper WabiShebele and some parts of upper GenaleDawa catchment will be expected to get near normal rainfall.
