Monthly Hydro-meteorlogical

The moisture performance of March had better performance over south western river basins. Accordingly some adjacent places of eastern BaroAkobo and middle OmoGibe catchments were preformed wet to semi humid weather condition. In addition the occurrence of heavy fall were observed over upper catchments of pocket places of Wabishebele, Omogibe, Baroakobo, southern and northern Abay and middle Awash catchments from one to three days. The rest parts of the main river basins were dominated under dry and semi dry condition.

In the next April the upper and middle catchments of Awash, most parts of upper and middle Wabishebele, Genaledawa, Rift valley, Afar Denakel, most of Omogibe, BaroAkobo and Abay catchments will receive light to moderate amount of rainfall. In addition to this based on the forecast information in some catchments the occurrence of heavy fall will be expected and may cause flash flood. However this type of rainfall event will have good contribution for availability of water.
