The moisture performance of December had better performance for south western, north and the north eastern catchments. According to this across middle and lower OmoGibe, eastern Baro Akobo, lower Rift Valley, the divide of Abay and Tekeze, pocket places of lower Awash and some parts of upper Afar Denakel catchments were preformed wet weather condition. The rest river basins were experienced dry to semi humid weather condition.

In the coming January, 2016 in most parts of the main river basin Bega dry and sunny weather condition will be continue dominantly. However within the month in some days across upper and eastern Tekeze, most parts of eastern half of Abay and middle Awash will be expected to get light amount of rainfall. In addition to this upper BaroAkob, OmoGibe, upper Awash, upper Wabishebele and Genaledawa catchments will be receive light to moderate amount of rainfall.
