Generally, during the month of October 2011, Bega rain benefiting areas of southern, southeastern, western and southwestern parts of the country as well as northern and northeastern parts of the country. The situation might have favored availability of water for perennial plants, late sown pulse crops found at different phonological phase and pasture and drinking water for pastoral and agro pastoral areas, while the experienced normal to above normal rainfall had a negative impact in areas where Meher crops fully matured and in areas were harvest and post harvest activities are takes place. In the coming November 2011, rainfall activities will expect over few areas of northern portion of the country central, eastern, western, southwestern southeastern and eastern parts of the country due to the increase of cloud coverage and unseasonal rainfall will expect to create mild weather condition which favor for the out break of pest and disease. Therefore, we would like to advice farmers and concerned bodies to take necessary measures to enhance harvest and post harvest activities and filed monitoring in early mooring for pest and diseases in order to minimize risk. ![]() Back to List |
