October_2016_Hydromet_Bulletin (Monthly Hydro-meteorlogical)


The moisture performance of October had shown better performance over western, south western, southern and eastern catchments which are Bega second season rain benefiting river basins. Accordingly middle and lower Abay, upper and middle OmoGibe, upper BaroAkobo, middle and lower Wabishebele, most parts of Genaledawa and middle Rift valley catchments were preformed wet weather condition. The rest parts of those catchments were experienced under humid to semi humid condition. The rest Awash, Tekeze, eastern Abay, Afar Denakel and upper and lower Rift valley, lower OmoGibe, lower GenaleDawa and some parts of upper Wabishebele were dominated under dry and semi dry condition.

In the coming month the dry, sunny and windy condition of Bega weather dominated over most parts of the country. In some year weak rainfall distribution prevail until mid November across south and south western half of the country. According to this dry and sunny condition will dominated over most of main basins, due to this in the upper catchments of Abay, Awash, Wabishebele and Riftvalley catchments in some station the daily temperature will be decreased. In the other side lower and middle Wabishebele, Ogaden, lower and middle Genaledawa, lower Rift valley, lower OmoGibe, southern Abay and eastern BaroAkobo will have small amount of rainfall distribution.
